Monster Energy has been linked to 5 deaths and one nonfatal heart attack to this date. Monster has 7 times the caffeine of a 12 ounce can of a cola soda. The FDA is investigating the deaths and the company for the reactions of the people. These deaths started in 2004 and nobody really knows if Monster directly caused the deaths or if there was something else. This was all brought on when a family sued last week about their daughter dying a year ago after drinking two 24 ounce Monsters within a 24 hour period. she died from a heart attack from caffeine toxicity. The examiner also found she inherited a disease that weakens blood cells. There is a limit on caffeine for soda but there is none for energy drinks. Monster told reporters they weren't aware of their product killing anybody.
